Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Acadia Healthcare, a leader in behavioral health and addiction disorders, is using UltiPro to support the company’s acquisition-based growth while controlling costs.

Acadia Healthcare operates a network of almost 300 behavioral health facilities in 39 states and Puerto Rico. An Ultimate customer since 2011, Acadia leveraged UltiPro to bring the consistency of a single HCM solution to a healthcare system that includes inpatient psychiatric hospitals, specialty treatment facilities, residential treatment centers, and outpatient clinics. The company has achieved strong growth and diversification through a series of transformational acquisitions, and has a proven strategy to identify, acquire, integrate, and improve facility operations.

“UltiPro has been a key component of our ability to support our corporate strategy and do so cost-effectively,” said Christine Rockholt, director of HRIS systems for Acadia Healthcare. “We have only a small group of people who work with UltiPro, yet the simplicity of the solution, including the ease of importing and validating of new employee data, enables us to leverage just our core team to manage each acquisition. Furthermore, because we have only one solution system-wide, we can easily train and orient employees after every acquisition to the solution. Newly acquired employees are consistently impressed by the UltiPro user experience, and their ability to immediately begin accessing their benefits and HR information through the solution.”

Rockholt reports that, despite the company’s rapid growth, the HR department has been able to provide a high level of service to employees without increasing HR’s administrative headcount. Because of UltiPro’s ability to drive business value, Acadia is often able to elevate the job responsibilities of acquired HR staff so they can focus on more strategic functions at their locations.

“We have recently begun using UltiPro Onboarding for our acquired employees,” said Rockholt. “Although we honor their seniority, acquired employees are new to our system and they are still required to fill out a new hire packet. With UltiPro Onboarding, we’ve been able to convert that packet of papers to an electronic process, just like we do with new hires who come through traditional channels. This new process has saved an enormous amount of time on manual tasks for both employees and our HR staff.”

Given the complexities of Acadia’s business model, Rockholt is an active contributor of ideas to Ultimate’s product team, and has been delighted to play a small part in making the solution even more robust.

“What I absolutely love about Ultimate is its willingness to listen and encourage feedback,” said Rockholt. “I have had an extraordinary customer experience collaborating with Ultimate and knowing I am being heard. I’ve been very fortunate to be part of many focus groups for Ultimate’s recruiting and onboarding products, as well as the online benefits enrollment tool. It is very exciting to see my ideas actually incorporated into new product releases and to be able to take advantage of UltiPro enhancements I suggested.”

“UltiPro’s technology is perfectly suited for companies experiencing large-scale, rapid growth,” said Greg Swick, chief enterprise sales officer at Ultimate. “We are pleased to see Acadia Healthcare taking advantage not only of the solution’s efficiency and value, but also the partnership with Ultimate that helps to shape our user-friendly products.”
