Hometown:  Warren, Michigan

Alma mater: Michigan State University. Brandon holds a B.S. in Mathematics

All-time favorite restaurant: Benihana

Favorite board game: Wingspan. It is a competitive, card-driven, engine-building board game from designer Elizabeth Hargrave and Stonemaier Games. It is the winner of the prestigious 2019 Kennerspiel des Jahres award.

What do you do when you’re not working? I am an avid board game player, so if I’m not working, you can usually find me playing board games.

How did you find out about HRchitect, and what made you join the company?  The people are what attracted me to HRchitect specifically. I had worked with some folks on the HRchitect team at another company, and we worked really well together. I was excited about the opportunity to work with these people again.

How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? My time as a math tutor really helped in what I do today, working on analytical projects and collaborating with clients. In addition, having that background enables me to explain the technical workforce technology aspects to a non-technical audience.

In your own words, what do you do at HRchitect? I analyze and configure complex WorkForce Software and workforce management implementations. I handle all phases of the project, from scope definition and requirements documentation, through configuration, testing, implementation, go-live support, and post-go-live support.

What’s a typical workday like for you?  I sit down at my computer with coffee around 8 am. I spend a lot of time in the policy editor for WorkForce Software, in between client meetings. I also spend a lot of time on project management throughout the day, making sure projects are tracking on schedule.

Tell me about a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of.  I’m particularly proud of some of the work I’ve done with NAES, which is a great client. I pulled a new policy profile within three weeks, which was an amazing accomplishment.

What’s been one of your favorite destinations to travel to for a client site visit? Denver, Colorado

As part of a team that works 100% virtually, what technology or collaboration tools do you use to make your work life easier? Slack is my favorite tool for instant messaging purposes. I also use Microsoft Teams.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? Problem-solving. Translating requirements into WFS configuration can be complex, and I like to solve any challenges that come up.

Which employee perk that HRchitect offers do you enjoy the most? Why? The more casual non-predictable reminders from HRchitect that show that the company cares about and supports employees are my favorite perk. Some examples of this are gift packages, gift cards, holiday gifts, and charitable donations in our honor to our charity of choice. Of course, I also enjoy working from home.
