Degreed Selected as Finalist in the Excellence in Technology Innovation Category
SAN FRANCISCO – September 7, 2016 – Degreed, the fast-growing company that has created an engaging, beautiful and intuitive way to empower and recognize all forms of professional and lifelong learning, today announced that it has been named a finalist for the Excellence in Technology Innovation Award in Chief Learning Officer magazine’s Learning in Practice Awards.
Now in its 13th year, Chief Learning Officer’s Learning in Practice Awards aim to recognize learning leaders that demonstrate excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs. Winners of the award exhibit a combination of qualities such as leadership, vision, business acumen and strategic alignment. Degreed was selected as a finalist in the Excellence in Technology Innovation category for introducing innovative learning technology solutions that transform learning for its client organizations.
“We are honored to be named a Learning in Practice Award finalist, which validates our approach to making all lifelong learning matter,” said David Blake, CEO and co-founder of Degreed. “People today have access to more sources for learning and career development than ever before. And corporate learning and talent development teams are looking to leverage and track it all. Degreed’s platform seamlessly connects workers and L&D professionals with millions of learning resources, both from inside and outside of corporate systems. And in doing so, it’s also giving CLOs and their teams a simpler way to measure and recognize all the learning people do, including what’s happening outside of classrooms and learning management systems.”
Since its founding in 2012, Degreed has enabled individuals and organizations to find, track and recognize all their learning. Developed with the understanding that there is no single path to expertise, the Degreed platform enables users to set personal learning goals and expand their skill sets in their areas of interest. It also enables businesses to create learning goals and pathways for their teams, while building a culture of consistent and continuous learning. This innovative approach has led to rapid growth for the company and increased recognition across the learning industry, including its distinction as a Learning in Practice Awards finalist.
The Learning in Practice Awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 during the 2016 CLO Symposium+PLUS, taking place at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Ariz. During this event, Degreed will be named a gold, silver or bronze winner for the Excellence in Technology Innovation category.
Degreed will also play a prominent role in the CLO Symposium. Not only is the company a sponsor of the event, but Kelly Palmer, Degreed’s chief learning officer will also present a session, “Happiness@Work,” on Monday, September 26. During this presentation, Palmer will discuss how learning can be an organization’s biggest competitive advantage in attracting and retaining great talent, and how thinking about learning differently can empower employees to transform their careers and enrich their lives.
