Efficiently evaluating the skills of prospective tech hires is critical and hiring managers spend upwards of 82 hours assessing and hiring a single candidate. But without a technical background, it’s challenging for hiring managers to assess tech talent seamlessly and put qualifying candidates in the right positions. That’s why today, HackerRank , the platform used by over one million developers to hone their skills and by companies like Amazon , Riot Games and Evernote to hire tech talent, is announcing a first-of-its-kind initiative with Oracle Taleo , Jobvite and Greenhouse to fully optimize tech recruiting.
Here’s how it works:
- Recruiters and hiring managers can use their applicant tracking system (ATS) as usual to gather information about the qualifications of all potential candidates
- Technical skills are then tested in the platform using HackerRank’s coding tests
- The results from the tests are displayed in the ATS as both a simple score and with full details, making it easy for hiring managers to see rankings of all candidates
- Hiring managers can then use all the available information to make an informed decision and complete the recruiting process in the same platform, finishing with an offer letter
“One of our first goals with HackerRank was to give anyone with technical skills the chance to be found and hired, no matter their background or location around the globe,” explained Vivek Ravisankar, CEO and cofounder of HackerRank . “Now we are partnering with some of the leading software and recruiting firms to optimize the process and make it more streamlined for hiring managers.”
As a first-of-its-kind, this integrated software is the only available solution for evaluating both qualifications and technical skills in a single place. This 360-degree view will enable hiring managers to automate the sending of code challenges to qualified candidates and review results directly within a single profile page. Previously, hiring managers accessed this data in several locations. Hiring managers will save an average of 10 to 15 percent of their time as they no longer need to log into multiple platforms to test candidates. Additionally, hiring managers can preset the threshold for performance and allow HackerRank to evaluate the candidate’s skill and qualify the candidate for the position.
