Grants provide new practitioners opportunities to further healthcare HR professional development

WOBURN, MA – September 23, 2015 HealthcareSource®, the leading provider of talent management solutions for the healthcare industry, today announced the winners of the sixth annual HealthcareSource New-to-the-Profession ASHHRA Conference Grants. The grants enabled the winners to attend the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administrators (ASHHRA) 51st Annual Conference that took place in Orlando, FL on September 19-22, 2015.

These grants provide financial assistance to healthcare HR practitioners who are new in their careers and wish to further their knowledge by attending the ASHHRA Conference. The grant fulfills a commitment commonly shared by both ASHHRA and HealthcareSource to support the next generation of healthcare HR leaders with educational and networking opportunities.

The 2015 HealthcareSource New-to-the-Profession ASHHRA grant winners are:

Rebecca M. Rogers, Human Resources Generalist, Shriners Hospitals for Children – Greenville

“I truly love the HR profession and I feel that I am able to take my passion for helping others to a higher level now that I work in healthcare. Attending the ASHHRA conference provides further support for my professional development because it allows me to network with many experienced professionals, take advantage of resources and continuing education opportunities, and stay current with trends and laws.”

Danielle Middleton Boldon, Human Resources Generalist, St. Cloud Medical Group

“I thoroughly enjoy the challenges that my human resources role brings me, while working in a healthcare environment that is making a positive impact in our community. As someone who is new to the healthcare human resources world, I can greatly benefit from membership in ASHHRA. The learning and networking opportunities are not only endless, but they are also priceless. I am eager to learn everything that I can about healthcare human resources, and there is no better way to do that than by being involved in the ASHHRA.”

Michelle Kavanaugh, Nurse Recruiter, Owensboro Health Regional Hospital

“As a Nurse Recruiter, I am now in a position to extend the same guidance and mentoring that I received to other healthcare professionals who are earnestly seeking to find their place in this rewarding and challenging career path. As a nurse, I place a high value on continuous learning and improvement, instituting best practice policies and research-driven approaches to ensure the highest quality outcome. I believe that membership in ASHHRA will foster the aforementioned qualities in not only myself, but my co-workers.”

The grant recipients were recognized in a special reception on September 19, 2015.

“Each year ASHHRA recognizes the next generation of healthcare HR leaders, and HealthcareSource is proud to support these professionals’ continuing education and professional development,” said Michael DiPietro, chief marketing officer at HealthcareSource. “We are proud to partner with ASHHRA and support HR practitioners who are new to the healthcare profession to help make an impact on the quality of talent healthcare organizations need to address the evolving needs of the healthcare market.”

“HealthcareSource continues to demonstrate its commitment to the healthcare HR community by annually sponsoring the New-to-the-Profession conference grants,” said Dawn M. Rose, JD, PHR, executive director, ASHHRA. “Both ASHHRA and HealthcareSource believe in the importance of continued education and development for healthcare HR professionals that are critical to hiring and retaining the staff responsible for delivering high quality experiences across the continuum of care.
