Talented I-O Psychologist Hired to Meet Increasing Demand for Custom Assessments, Delivery of Enhanced Candidate Experience

CLEVELAND (April 21, 2015) – SHAKER, the market leader in custom simulations for pre-employment testing, today announced the addition of industrial-organizational psychologist Jensen Mecca, Ph.D., to complement the company’s growing Virtual Job Tryout® technology Design-Build Team, which collaborates with clients to define job demands, establish assessment content criteria and develop custom assessment experiences that will deliver improvements in quality of hire.

“When we first met Jensen, we saw a very capable individual with great team skills and a friendly, professional demeanor,” said Brian M. Stern, Ph.D., president of SHAKER. “We have no doubt that she will quickly build credibility with our clients.”

SHAKER has added several selection scientists to the organization recently in an effort to address the ongoing growth in new clients, as well as to meet the needs of project expansions with many existing clients. In her new role with SHAKER, Mecca will utilize her past experience in talent analytics and predictive modeling to inform and enhance the design of clients’ assessments.

“Jensen possesses an impressive combination of technical skills, an unflappable presence and an ability to quickly connect with the people around her. Because of this, we’re confident that she’ll do great things at SHAKER, and we look forward to helping her realize her potential,” SHAKER vice president of selection science, Michael J. Hudy, Ph.D., stated.

“I’m thrilled to join the SHAKER team. Here, I can pursue the goal that first drew me to industrial-organizational psychology: to use excellent selection science to improve people’s lives. I’m so excited to be able to pursue this goal each day with such an outstanding team and within such an amazing organizational culture,” Mecca added.

Prior to joining SHAKER, Mecca worked for Oklahoma Gas & Electric, where she conducted analyses that explored leadership development and employee engagement within the organization. An experienced lecturer and published author, her experience also includes developing and conducting organizational research studies on behalf of the National Institutes of Health and the United States Army. Mecca is an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and currently serves on the Visibility and Communication Committee for the organization.

A native of Wylie, Texas, Mecca holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. She also earned a double major in psychology and anthropology from the University of Oklahoma.
