Organic Pioneer Amy’s Kitchen Selects UltiPro to Support Expansion

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Amy’s Kitchen, a family-owned, privately held company that is a pioneer in the organic foods industry, has selected the cloud-based UltiPro® solution to support future growth and better service a bilingual workforce using an HCM provider with a strong value on partnership and service.

Founded in 1987, Amy’s has created over 250 products, which are carried by natural-food stores, supermarkets, and club stores in the United States, Canada, and abroad. The company employs more than 2,000 people and operates three processing plants in California, Oregon, and Idaho, with an additional plant opening in New York this year.

Previously, Amy’s Kitchen handled its HR, payroll, and talent management with multiple solutions and processes, including a payroll service bureau, spreadsheets, and manual administration. According to Carme Lewis, total rewards and human resources technology director with Amy’s Kitchen, the technology for these systems had become outdated, operated on disparate platforms, and necessitated redundant data entry. Company leaders wanted to streamline HCM and prepare for growth with a best-in-class solution. After an extensive research process, Amy’s Kitchen selected Ultimate’s UltiPro solution as its system of record.
