Out of Office

It’s well into the last quarter of the year and the holiday season is almost upon us. As many of us are busy planning year-end family vacations or scheduling trips to be with loved ones, it’s a good idea to make a check list of all items you need to do, both personally and professionally, before you officially head out on your vacation or holiday travel. Your list probably includes everything from making sure your house is secure while you’re gone and taking your pets to be boarded to following up with candidates about outstanding job offers and making sure you’ve pulled those monthly reports for your boss. One of the last things I do when I’m getting ready to officially head out on vacation is to set up my out of office e-mail reply. My out of office message always lists the contact information of a colleague who is available and able to address any important e-mails that come in from my prospects and clients.
