PeopleMatter Names Winners of 2015 Excellence Awards at Collaborate ’15 Conference

Company Recognizes T.L. Cannon Companies, Del Taco, Heartland Automotive Services, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Quality Dining, Inc., Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants and Country Fair

CHARLESTON, S.C.May 6, 2015 — Today from its Collaborate ’15 user conference, PeopleMatter announced the seven winners of the 2015 PeopleMatter Excellence Awards. Through this annual award program, PeopleMatter recognizes its service industry clients that have achieved outstanding results through their use of the company’s cutting-edge workforce management solutions.

The winners of the 2015 PeopleMatter Excellence Awards include:

HIRE ROI Impact Award: T.L. Cannon Companies – T.L. Cannon Companies owns and operates 61 Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants in upstate New York, Connecticut and northern Pennsylvania, as well as table1, an upscale casual restaurant in northeastern Florida, accounting for nearly 7,000 employees. The Williamsville, N.Y.-based company was selected as winner of the HIRE ROI Impact Award for the significant ROI earned from tax credits – not just hiring people eligible for tax credits, but actually receiving those credits. Through its use of the PeopleMatter HIRE™ solution, T.L. Cannon achieved a tax credit compliance level of 99 percent and received savings of more than $300,000 in tax credits throughout 2014 alone.

LEARN ROI Impact Award: Del Taco – Headquartered in Lake Forest, Calif., Del Taco and its franchisees employ more than 8,000 team members working across 500 restaurant locations. With a comprehensive training and development program, the company was recognized with the LEARN ROI Impact Award. Leveraging PeopleMatter LEARN™, the company shows team members how to make new menu items, and it uses more than 300 tablet PCs to increase e-learning efficiency among its staff.

SCHEDULE ROI Impact Award: Heartland Automotive Services – Heartland Automotive Services is the country’s largest Jiffy Lube Franchisee, owning more than 500 locations and managing close to 5,000 employees. The company, headquartered in Irving, Texas, was recognized with the SCHEDULE ROI Impact Award for its use of the PeopleMatter SCHEDULE™ solution. In 2015, managers published ninety-nine percent of the company’s weekly schedules through PeopleMatter. Through this platform, Heartland Automotive Services was able to optimize employee scheduling at all of its locations, reducing overtime pay by more than half while increasing employee engagement with the company.

Spirit of the Community Award: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams – The winner of the Spirit of the Community Award, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams employs nearly 700 individuals at its 42 locations. Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the company was recognized for its highly eco-friendly business and commitment to making the world a better place. Jeni’s invests in local farmers, maintains a small carbon footprint, continually works to optimize its water usage and also provides paid time off for its team members to volunteer in the community. As a Certified B Corporation, the company meets rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

Game Changer Award: Quality Dining, Inc. – Quality Dining, Inc. is one of the country’s largest franchisee restaurant companies, operating 223 restaurants in six states, accounting for more than 8,000 team members. This Mishawaka, Ind.-based company received the PeopleMatter Game Changer Award for being a technology trailblazer in its industry. Quality Dining adopts and integrates best-of-breed technologies into their operating environment which set a new standard for compliance and operational excellence within the industry.

Rockstar Award: Country Fair – Country Fair, headquartered in Erie, Pa., operates 72 convenience stores across northwestern Pennsylvania and employs more than 1,300 team members. The company was recognized with the Rockstar Award, given to organizations that go above and beyond as an advocate, supporter and champion of PeopleMatter. Country Fair has participated in numerous case studies, reference activities and live PeopleMatter events throughout its history as a PeopleMatter customer.

Pinnacle Award: Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants – Headquartered in Countryside, Ill., Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants operates 19 restaurants, an award-winning winery, and employs nearly 3,000 employees. The company was recognized with the Pinnacle Award, highlighting its ability to create a highly engaged workforce and superior culture based on its use of PeopleMatter’s workforce management solutions.
