Plants to Leverage Extensive Background in Developing Advanced Candidate Selection Systems in New Associate Role

CLEVELAND (June 21, 2016)—Shaker, the market leader in engaging, realistic job previews and custom simulations for pre-employment testing, today announced the addition of Ashlie Plants, Ph.D., as an associate for the company’s Design-Build team. In this role, she will be integral to enhancing Shaker’s Virtual Job Tryout technology and developing new assessment experiences that meet complex client needs and help employers hire candidates who deliver superior results.

“We are very fortunate to have Ashlie join Shaker. She brings a well-developed and diverse skill set in selection science, talent analytics and predictive modeling. Her genuine and endearing style enables her to quickly connect with people,” said Scott Goodman, vice president, Client Solutions for Shaker. “Ashlie joins us at a time of continued organizational growth, and we look forward to her contributions to our team and valued clients.”

“One of the first things about Shaker that impressed me was its extensive portfolio of clients, most of which are Fortune 500 companies,” said Plants. “As an I-O psychologist, nothing is quite as exciting and rewarding as having the opportunity to leverage my education, background and expertise to contribute to the success of some of the best companies in the world.”

Before joining Shaker, Plants served as a consultant and psychometrician for The Aldridge Group, where she was responsible for data management and analyses and for developing talent management tools and processes to assist in recruiting and candidate selection. She was previously an external research contractor for the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, leading data analyses and preparing research manuscripts. Plants also served as an occupational safety compliance consultant for Manhattan Consultants Incorporated, where she developed interactive web-based safety training and conducted job hazard analyses.

Plants received a B.A. in psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in industrial-organizational psychology from Bowling Green State University. She is a regular speaker at various industrial-organizational psychology events and an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

“Shaker stands out from the competition by focusing on enhancing the candidate experience in addition to the client experience,” Plants continued. “The Virtual Job Tryout is not only fun and interactive, but it also allows the candidate to get a realistic preview of what the job is really like. I am very excited to be joining such a talented, hard-working and fun group of I-O professionals.”
