Tyler enhances public safety portfolio by adding proven provider of mobile hand-held solutions
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) today announced it has acquired Brazos Technology Corporation (Brazos), a provider of mobile hand-held solutions used primarily by law enforcement agencies for field accident reporting and electronically issuing citations. Brazos also counts several court agencies among its more than 500 clients nationwide.
Founded in 2000 and based in College Station, Texas, Brazos offers highly configurable mobile solutions for law enforcement and also offers a mobile application tool kit that allows users to build, deploy and manage applications. The Brazos product line will be part of Tyler’s public safety solutions, and Tyler expects all Brazos management and employees will join the company.
“Brazos has been a trusted partner of Tyler for many years, and we’re pleased to welcome founder Mike McAleer and the entire Brazos team to the Tyler family. Their outstanding mobile products will further strengthen our public safety offerings,” said Brett Cate, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “Tyler has a track record of adding best-of-breed companies and solutions that complement our offerings and support our growth strategies, and acquiring Brazos reflects that philosophy.”
“We have developed a strong relationship with Tyler over the years, and we’re eager to accelerate our products’ growth potential backed by Tyler’s financial strength and its ability to scale resources beyond what Brazos can do on its own,” said Mike McAleer, president of Brazos Technology. “We’re also looking forward to being part of an organization with the resources and best practices that we need to support our goals for product innovation.”
