Ultimate Software, a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that it is ranked #4 on this year’s 50 Best Workplaces for Parents list by Fortune and Great Place to Work (GPTW). The ranking is based on employees’ survey responses covering a range of topics for parents and non-parents alike, and on an analysis of companies’ policies and practices in such areas as healthcare benefits, parental leave, adoption support, and flexible schedules.

Aligning with Ultimate’s companywide commitment to always put people first, the company pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their families (including same-sex married couples), with coverage for IVF treatments. Ultimate also provides paid maternity, paternity, and adoption leave; access to private, onsite “Mommy Rooms” for nursing women; unlimited paid time off throughout the year; $300 annually (per child) to help cover costs of children’s extracurricular activities; company ownership in the form of Restricted Stock Units upon hiring; and a 401(k) retirement plan with a 40% dollar-for-dollar company match, with no cap, up to federal limits.

As of January 2019, Ultimate will begin providing financial assistance to employees who legally adopt children, including up to $10,000 per child to help cover agency/placement, legal, and/or court fees associated with the adoption process. Ultimate will also raise its dollar-for-dollar company match to 45% on all employee 401(k) contributions.

In determining the 50 Best Workplaces for Parents list for 2018, GPTW based its rankings on a data-driven methodology applied to anonymous Trust Index survey responses representing more than 5 million U.S. employees at GPTW-Certified organizations. For this list, GPTW focused its analysis on parents’ overall feedback, analyzing how their experiences compared with those of their colleagues and whether job level or other personal characteristics changed the level of support they received as parents.
