Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Ultimate Software has been named to Glassdoor’s “Highest-Rated CEOs” list for 2015. Glassdoor, a jobs and careers marketplace, released its annual report highlighting the top executives, this year recognizing leaders in countries throughout North America and parts of Europe.
Among CEOs recognized in the U.S. at large companies, Ultimate’s CEO, Scott Scherr, was ranked #5 nationwide and received a 95% approval rating based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews Ultimate Software employees shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year. Other companies on the 2015 list included Google, Nike, Facebook, Apple, LinkedIn, and Starbucks.
“We are honored that Glassdoor has recognized our CEO for his leadership in creating a culture that puts our employees first,” said Vivian Maza, chief people officer at Ultimate Software. “We believe that employees are the number-one priority—if employees are happy, engaged, and taken care of, then they in turn are more engaged in their jobs and deliver our customers the best human capital management solutions possible. This award is especially meaningful to us because it tells us that our employees appreciate and value the culture we have worked so hard to create, and that culture starts with our leadership.”
“Gaining the trust and approval of an entire workforce is one of the most difficult tasks for a CEO to undertake,” said Glassdoor CEO and Co-founder, Robert Hohman. “I celebrate the leaders appearing on this list because they’ve managed to inspire and engage their employees, as proven by the feedback shared on Glassdoor around the clock and around the world.”
CEO approval ratings are gathered through Glassdoor’s online company review survey, which seeks to gain current and former employee sentiment about job and company satisfaction, the work environment, and the culture. Employees are asked to rate a number of workplace factors such as compensation and benefits, as well as work-life balance, and asked whether they approve or disapprove of the way their CEO is leading the company. In addition, employees are asked to describe some of the upsides and downsides of working for the company and provide any advice for senior management.
