(Date: March 8, 2018) Ultimate Software, a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that it has been named to this year’s 50 Best Workplaces for Women list by Great Place to Work. The list is based on direct feedback from women at hundreds of organizations across Canada surveyed by Great Place to Work.
“Today and every day, we recognize the incredible impact women can have as innovators and leaders, in tech and across industries, especially when they believe to achieve,” said Vivian Maza, chief people officer at Ultimate. “Our number-one priority at Ultimate is people. We’re 100% focused on providing the resources our employees need to succeed as professionals, while developing healthy, rewarding lives beyond their careers. It’s an honour to be included on this list, and we encourage organizations everywhere to join in our commitment to fostering positive, productive workplaces that respect, support, and empower all women.”
Women comprise about half (49%) of Ultimate’s total workforce, and approximately 42% of females at Ultimate hold leadership positions of manager or above. Employees are encouraged to join Ultimate’s Women in Leadership (WIL) group, one of four companywide Communities of Interest that promote inclusivity, equality, respect, and care for all individuals, aligning with Ultimate’s “People First” core philosophy. WIL offers Ultimate’s women at all job levels an outlet to learn, connect, and succeed through a variety of networking, social, and community service events engineered to inspire women everywhere.
To help develop the next generation of female leaders, Ultimate offers the annual Athena Scholarship, awarding two college scholarships to graduating daughters of Ultimate employees, as well as rising seniors graduating high school the following year. The scholarships are awarded to young women pursuing studies in technology-related fields or who demonstrate superior leadership skills in their school and/or community, with the potential to become leaders.
Ultimate’s comprehensive benefits package for Canada-based employees includes extended healthcare coverage for all employees and their families; a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with a 40% match on all employee contributions; paid maternity and adoption leave (10 weeks each), as well as paid paternity leave (4 weeks); unlimited PTO throughout the year; three annual paid service days for employees to volunteer at charities of their choosing; and an annual stipend (up to $300 per child) to help cover costs of extracurricular activities.
In compiling the 50 Best Workplaces for Women in Canada list for 2018, Great Place to Work considered employee responses on its anonymous Trust Index survey, and analyzed organizations’ programs and practices that support and advance women. Companies featured on the list earned at least a 90% positive response to the statement “I am treated fairly regardless of my gender” from women surveyed at their organization.
