Ultimate Software,  a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that the company has been ranked #16 on the 2018 Best Workplaces for Giving Back list, created by Fortune magazine and Great Place to Work. Rankings for this year’s list considered survey feedback from more than 385,000 employees in organizations across the United States.

“Every day, we’re focused on making a difference in people’s lives,” said Vivian Maza, chief people officer at Ultimate. “We give not only because it’s the right thing to do, but because we believe it’s our greater calling as a company and our top responsibility as a society. You don’t have to look far to see there are people all around us in need, people we can all do our part to help—whether through volunteerism, charitable support, or even daily acts of kindness. We are humbled to receive this honor, and hope that we can inspire others to join us in serving our communities.”

As part of our companywide commitment to giving, Ultimate provides all full-time employees with three paid days per year for community service and volunteer work with charities of their choosing. The company also matches dollar for dollar the total amount of donations that its employees generously donate for certain global aid to victims of natural disasters and support for coworkers and their families in need.

One example is Ultimate’s companywide National Week of Service in September 2017, when we partnered with the nonprofit Rebuilding Together, which assembles teams of licensed professionals and everyday volunteers to assist with home repairs for veterans, the elderly, and low-income homeowners. More than 200 Ultimate employees from across the United States spent consecutive days painting, landscaping, gardening, and completing other beautification projects to help restore houses for seven families.

To determine rankings on this year’s Best Workplaces for Giving Back list, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous survey responses from more than 385,000 employees at companies nationwide, representing a variety of industries. The Trust Index© survey evaluated more than 50 elements of an employee’s experience on the job, including pride in the organization’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling that their work has special meaning. The ranking also accounted for how women, people of color, Baby Boomers, and LGBT individuals experience giving in the workplace.
