Ultimate Software, a leading global provider of human capital management (HCM) and employee experience solutions in the cloud, announced today that Ultimate has ranked #2 on PEOPLE magazine’s 50 Companies That Care, marking Ultimate’s third year appearing in the top three of the list. In compiling the list, PEOPLE partnered with Great Place to Work, a global people analytics and consulting firm, to analyze 4.5 million U.S. employees’ survey feedback on how their workplaces make a difference in their lives and communities, and to consider the generosity of each organization’s benefits, philanthropic efforts, and community support.

“All of us at Ultimate cherish the PEOPLE 50 Companies That Care honor because giving back to our communities and sharing our good fortune are so close to our hearts and a huge part of our core values,” said Vivian Maza, chief culture officer at Ultimate. “Since Ultimate was founded, our mission has been to care for all people—beginning with our employees, continuing to our customers, extending into our communities. As we’ve grown over the past 29 years, we’ve been extremely fortunate to be able to give and serve others on a global scale. Our people dedicate themselves every day to doing the right thing and making a difference for others. We commend the individuals who remain committed to their communities, and congratulate the 49 other companies on this list.”

As part of fostering a “People First” culture of care, Ultimate provides employees with three paid service days each year for volunteering at charities of their choice. Teams often organize community service outings together, participating in groups and as part of offsite department-wide meetings. Employees also donate to a variety of causes and nonprofit organizations through charitable giving drives throughout the year—coming together to help people impacted by natural disasters, unforeseen tragedies, or personal crises—with employee donations matched 100% by Ultimate. With a long-term commitment to caring for the whole person, Ultimate offers a variety of educational resources, workshops, and programs to support employees’ physical and mental wellbeing, both at the office and outside the workplace.

Ultimate’s extensive benefits package includes 100% employer-paid healthcare premiums (medical, dental, and vision) for all full-time employees and families, including same-sex married couples, with coverage for IVF treatments and gender reassignment surgery; a 45% dollar-for-dollar company match on all employee 401(k) contributions, with no cap, up to federal limits; paid maternity, paternity, and adoption leave, with $10,000 in financial assistance (per child, up to two children) to help cover the legal costs of adoption; and unlimited PTO, so employees can take time to relax and recharge, as needed. Ultimate’s people also have access to a range of onsite benefits and wellness programs, such as massages, meditation spaces, yoga, private rooms for nursing mothers, and access to a full-time wellness coach.

Rankings on PEOPLE’s 50 Companies That Care list represent feedback from millions of employees at organizations of all sizes and industries across the United States. Those surveyed answered questions about how their workplaces make a difference in their lives and in their communities, as well as the overall generosity of their organizations’ benefits, philanthropic efforts, and community support, particularly over the past 12 months.
