Ultimate Software, a leading global provider of human capital management (HCM) and employee experience solutions in the cloud, announced today that it ranks #2 on the 2019 Best Workplaces for Women list by Fortune and Great Place to Work. Rankings consider survey feedback from millions of employees at organizations throughout the United States. Results also take into account how well-represented women are in a company’s workforce and throughout management, including the number of female executives and non-executive managers, at these organizations.

“It’s an honor to once again be named a Best Workplace for Women, as Ultimate remains dedicated to fostering women’s innovation and success not only in technology, but in all industries,” said Vivian Maza, chief culture officer at Ultimate. “We’re proud to serve as a role model for companies across the United States—a responsibility we do not take lightly nor for granted—and we commend the leaders, employees, and allies working together to ensure women everywhere have continuous opportunities to grow as people, thrive in their careers and personal lives, and make positive impacts in their communities.”

Ultimate began in 1990 with two women and two men. Today, women still comprise half of Ultimate’s total workforce and hold approximately 50% of the company’s frontline management positions. Employees are encouraged to join Ultimate’s companywide Communities of Interest (COI) that promote inclusivity, equality, respect, and care for all individuals. Established in 2015, Women in Leadership offers Ultimate’s women in all roles and at all job levels an outlet to learn, connect, and succeed through a variety of leadership development and community service events. Women in Technology, Ultimate’s newest COI, focuses particularly on female technologists, their unique challenges and opportunities, and mentoring opportunities that address communication and development for success in an historically male environment.

Aligning with Ultimate’s “People First” founding principle, the company continues to expand its support and care for employees, within the workplace and beyond its walls. Ultimate’s 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for all employees and their families include coverage for infertility treatments and gender reassignment surgery. As part of its comprehensive benefits package, Ultimate also offers a 45% dollar-for-dollar match on all employee 401(k) contributions, with no cap, up to federal limits; paid maternity and adoption leave (10 weeks each), with $10,000 in financial assistance toward the legal adoption of a child (up to 2 children), as well as paternity leave (4 weeks); unlimited PTO throughout the year; $300 annually (per child) to help cover costs of children’s extracurricular activities; and such onsite benefits as access to private “Mommy Rooms” for nursing women.

In determining final rankings on the 2019 Best Workplaces for Women list, Great Place to Work analyzed anonymous Trust Index survey responses from women working at companies across the United States. Employees evaluated their organizations through 60 questions, including the extent to which employees trust one another, their managers, and company leadership; the respect with which people are treated; and the fairness of workplace decisions. Great Place to Work also analyzed these patterns relative to each organization’s size, workforce makeup, and what’s typical in their industries and regions, as well as employees’ daily experiences of innovation, the companies’ values, and the effectiveness of company leaders.
