September 21, 2015 – Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that it has received certification from the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Affordable Care Act Information Returns (AIR) Program. Completion of this certification program allows Ultimate to electronically file required Affordable Care Act compliance documents with the IRS on behalf of Ultimate’s customers.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA, also most commonly known as simply ACA) requires all U.S. employers with at least 50 full-time employees, including full-time equivalents, to file Forms 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS in early 2016 or they will be subject to penalties for failure to comply.
Any software developer or transmitter filing Forms 1094-C and 1095-C on behalf of another employer must be approved through the IRS AIR program, which opened up at the end of July. With the AIR certification, Ultimate adds an additional level of service and value to its existing ACA Employer Services offering by being able to electronically file required ACA documents on behalf of customers.

Ultimate Software’s UltiPro solution delivers a comprehensive set of ACA functionality and reporting, giving its customers everything they need to meet compliance for the 2016 deadline. All of Ultimate’s customers have access to UltiPro’s ACA Toolkit with the fall 2015 release of UltiPro. Functionality within the ACA Toolkit includes the automatic population of all lines on Forms 1094-C and 1095-C. Additionally, through its ACA Distribution Services and ACA Management Services, Ultimate provides its customers the option to have Ultimate file Forms 1094-C and 1095-C on their behalf.
Ultimate customers leveraging ACA Distribution Services or ACA Management Services will not be required to take any action with the IRS for ACA filing. As a certified and IRS-approved transmitter, Ultimate will:
• Securely manage and file electronic submissions based on IRS specifications
• Ensure timely transmittal of returns to the IRS
• Promptly correct any transmission error that causes an electronic transmission to be rejected
