Hometown: I was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and relocated to Canada to pursue my undergraduate degree.

Alma mater: I graduated from the University of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

All-time favorite restaurant: Star Kabab, a famous restaurant in Bangladesh. The restaurant is known for the most flavorful and tender kababs.

Last book you read: A Murder in Time, by Julie McElwain. My favorite genre is murder mysteries.

What do you do when you’re not working? I love road trips. If I have the time I enjoy taking off and going for a long drive. For example, I did a cross-country road trip from Toronto to Vancouver and back with my dad, followed by another trip from Toronto to Halifax a couple of weeks later. On my drive to Vancouver, it was great to stop in different provinces to visit my friends and relatives. The drive from Alberta to British Columbia was particularly phenomenal. The mountains and the scenery are incredible. Feels like paradise.

How did you find out about HRchitect, and what made you join the company? I was working for a former Ceridian client as a Business Systems Analyst. One day I came across a post on my LinkedIn newsfeed that HRchitect was one of the few consulting firms launching the Ceridian Dayforce practice (SI) partnership. This was something new as Ceridian usually handled everything internally and was starting to open a partnership channel. I thought it would be an exciting time to join HRchitect as the company was just starting to build out the practice. In addition, this career opportunity would allow me to utilize all my Dayforce knowledge and expertise to help build something new and be the perfect platform to showcase my skills and help me grow in my professional journey.

How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? All of my previous experiences have greatly prepared me for my role at HRchitect. First, my engineering background gave me the critical thinking and technical skills to become a successful consultant. Second, my previous role working for Ceridian allowed me to learn the Dayforce application inside and out, and my work on the client side gave me an understanding and the expectations required as a customer. Merging all these skills has allowed me to offer the best consulting services to our clients.

In your own words, what do you do at HRchitect? I joined HRchitect as a Senior Consultant handling multiple projects for our clients and was promoted a few months ago to Implementation Manager. I do everything to ensure our client’s goals are achieved and that our team has everything they need to achieve those goals.

What’s a typical workday like for you? A typical workday for me is a mix of client calls and project work. I jump in to resolve any roadblocks for clients or our team. When I am not on calls, I like to focus on configuration and research, concentrating on delivering unique solutions for my team and our clients.

Tell us about a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of. At a previous company, I worked on an exciting project. The project consisted of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) techniques to build a Business Intelligence tool with data coming from multiple platforms including Dayforce. We used OData web services to extract data out of Dayforce, built data pipelines using MS Azure Data Factory to store data in a SQL database, and then built customized dashboards within MS Power BI, synchronizing this data with additional data coming from other external platforms outside of Dayforce. The end product was used by the Executive Leadership team of the company in the manufacturing and service industry to drive efficiency. This is a project that I am truly proud of as I could think outside the box, making it a challenging but rewarding project. Back then it allowed me to use Dayforce beyond what it could do built-in within the application. It has taught me a lot in my current role to help our team and clients with APIs.

What’s been one of your favorite destinations to travel? I am looking forward to visiting Amsterdam in the fall with my wife and traveling around and checking out museums. We enjoy Dutch art and history. We are looking forward to seeing Vermeer’s iconic ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ and other masterpieces at The Mauritshuis Museum.

As part of a team that works 100% virtually, what technology or collaboration tools do you use to make your work life easier? Our team uses Zoom, MS Teams, and Box for project work and meetings, and Slack is amazing for internal fun and collaboration.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? The ability to help others. I know what I do in my role greatly impacts my clients, teammates, my manager, and our Ceridian partnership, and that gives me meaning.

Which employee perk that HRchitect offers do you enjoy the most? Why? Working remotely, I enjoy the Monthly Home Office Allowance perk that we get from the company. It has helped me get some cool stuff for my home office, including multiple monitors, and a standing desk from Autonomous, and I will continue to enhance my home office with this!
