What do you do when you’re not working? Currently, I am keeping busy planning my upcoming wedding, but I also enjoy hiking and going to concerts.
How did you find out about HRchitect, and what made you join the company? When I was on vacation, I started searching for a new job and was eager to pivot into consulting. I Googled ‘HR technology consulting’ and HRchitect popped up. I visited the website, and I read all about the company and services offered and I thought that would be a great fit for my next step into consulting. I quickly sent an email with my résumé and cover letter. It just all came together.
How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? I was an HR administrator at my previous organization, and we were implementing Workday. Having gone through that experience of being really closely involved with the implementation, it has allowed me to empathize with the experience of our clients and help to guide them through the process and make it smoother, at least in terms of guiding them in the decision making. Selecting and implementing a new HCM system can be a challenging process, but with our help and if the system makes sense for the client, then it will be a little less hard.
In your own words, what do you do at HRchitect? I’m responsible for guiding clients through discovering their HR technology needs and facilitating their evaluation of human capital management systems.
What’s a typical workday like for you? It depends on the week. Sometimes it could be more independent work like analyzing survey results, or it can be all day client meetings to gather requirements or in a demo with a vendor.
Tell me about a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of. It’s not necessarily a project as much as it’s an individual deliverable. I came into a project to pick up where another consultant left off. At the very end of it, the client was between two vendor finalists and was really looking to us to help them in side-by-side comparison. I was responsible for putting that together. I created a way to compare those vendors side by side for that client, and that’s something that Jacqueline Kuhn, who leads HRchitect’s Strategic Services group, was really impressed with. It was really helpful for the clients, and I’m pretty proud of because it was not based on a template that already existed.
What’s been one of your favorite destinations to travel to for a client site visit? Niagara Falls.
As part of a team that works 100% virtually, what technology or collaboration tools do you use to make your work life easier? I’m a big fan of Slack for those quick and easy communications with my team.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? I think one of the things that I really love about this job is being able to support our clients through something that will make such a transformation to their workforce and bottom-line ROI. It is even more exciting when the work our clients do aligns with my interests and I know that the right HR technology can support them in making a great impact in the world. I like seeing the ripple effects of all of it.
Which employee perk that HRchitect offers do you enjoy the most? Why? Flexibility with my schedule – that’s the biggest perk. I appreciate being able to attend an appointment or go for a midday walk. Our team trusts each other to get our work done. The level of trust they have in me has just been so liberating in this job.
