In the ever-changing tech world of “there is an App for that” more and more companies are looking for ways to better engage, attract, and retain great employees. This dream no longer goes unfulfilled in the HCM technology world. Technology has a way to not only streamline processes, but to encourage employees to walk down the path of success hand in hand. Let’s take a look into some of the exciting tech trends in the HCM technology space.
Leveraging HCM technology tools for communication
With employees shifting from traditional on-premise to hybrid or remote only roles, the need for collaboration and effective communication is more in the spotlight than ever. Teams need to feel connected and human, while maintaining productivity. They need proper tools to ensure their communication is not misinterpreted or lost.
Some examples of these tech tools could be as simple as:
- employee voice/recognition platforms,
- direct & mass messaging tools, or even
- gamification techniques.
Employees are more likely to engage and participate when given fun, yet challenging tasks that incorporate technology.
Lifelong Learning with online and mobile platforms
As HCM technology continues to advance and reconfigure the business world, lifelong learning is imperative to the economic makeup of not only organizations, but to employees. In the 26th Annual Global CEO Survey[1] conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) of 4,410 chief executives, 52% reported skills shortages will be one of the top impacts to profitability over the next 10 years, just behind the top impact at 56% of changing customer demand and preferences. In another survey conducted by LinkedIn[2] “Heavy Learners” equated to more confident, successful, and happier at work employees. These employees were reported to be less stressed, more likely to feel productive and confident, and take on more responsibility. Utilizing online/mobile learning allows employees to leverage life-work balance while gaining new and imperative skills to become more proficient professionals.
Utilizing HCM technology that allows teams to feel empowered with true human connections can set your company apart from the competition. When undertaking change, remember: your employees aren’t just along for the ride – they’re the engine for transformation.
You might be saying, ok this all sounds great, but how do we know which tech trends we should be leveraging? After all, selecting a new HCM system or HCM technology add-on is not your day job. Lucky for you, it’s ours.
