Implementing Dayforce as the HCM Platform For the Americas
Client Background
Brother International is a global manufacturer of home and office equipment, renowned for producing award-winning printers, sewing machines, labelers, and more. With a global legacy of more than a century, they have operated in the US for over 50 years. They currently have more than 2,000 employees in the Americas, with their US base in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
The Challenge
Brother International’s Americas subsidiary covers several countries, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. While HR information was housed in a major HCM vendor for all countries, they had varied levels of completeness, lacked visibility between countries, and payroll was processed in separate instances of the system per country.
These disparate systems and incomplete HR data meant Brother International required information to be sent manually from each country whenever they needed total reporting. They wanted a truly global system to unify their operations across the Americas.
They engaged HRchitect to implement Dayforce in the US and Canada, while working with Dayforce to implement the system in Latin America and integrate with a local payroll provider.

The Project
HRchitect first worked with Brother International on Phase 0 pre-implementation planning, gathering the knowledge needed for a smooth transition to Dayforce by planning resourcing, gathering data, documenting necessary integrations, and creating a roadmap.
With the plan in place, the HRchitect team worked with Brother International to implement Dayforce as their HR source of truth in the US and Canada. Modules implemented included Payroll, Time, Compensation, Learning, Engagement, Benefits, Onboarding, and Succession Planning, supporting the full employee lifecycle from hire to retirement.
Throughout this engagement, HRchitect provided client-side expertise, helping internal Brother International teams work with HRchitect consultants for a successful implementation. HRchitect then provided change management services and continued to support Brother International after go-live to implement new modules as needed to best leverage the platform.
At the same time, Dayforce worked with Brother International to implement the system in Latin America, integrating with local payroll systems. This has been a more complex implementation, and the HRchitect team is currently helping get modules live on an ongoing basis.
Key Benefits
- A single source of truth: Dayforce has been implemented in the US and Canada, consolidating systems across the two countries and giving Brother International a single HCM platform that had the HR data they needed.
- An improved employee experience: Employees were able to onboard, take training, view and select their benefits, and more all in a single platform, creating a simpler, more user-friendly experience for them.
- Training and adoption: HRchitect helped train the Brother International team on Dayforce and used their change management expertise to support ongoing adoption of the Dayforce platform.
- A roadmap to Dayforce success: By providing Phase 0 pre-implementation planning, HRchitect ensured that the necessary information was surfaced and developed a roadmap for a smooth Dayforce implementation in the US and Canada.
The Results
Brother International now uses Dayforce in the US and Canada, with employees onboarded and trained on the platform. Payroll is processed in a single Dayforce instance, providing a much simpler workflow than before, when it was processed across different instances of a previous HCM platform. Additional modules are being implemented as needed as HRchitect continues to support Brother International, ensuring Dayforce meets all of their organizational needs.
HRchitect is also continuing to support the implementation in Latin America so that Dayforce can become the standard across the Americas, helping to integrate data and standardize and simplify reporting.
