L.A. Care Health Plan

Client Background

L.A. Care Health Plan is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and serves more than 2 million members. With over 2,000 employees supporting healthcare delivery to underserved and vulnerable populations across Los Angeles County, the organization operates in a highly complex and regulated environment.

Prior to engaging HRchitect, the client relied on disparate time & attendance and payroll systems that lacked integration, resulting in heavy manual effort and operational inefficiencies.

The Challenge

Before modernization, approximately 90% of payroll-related processes were executed manually due to a lack of integration between systems. The existing time & attendance solution was incompatible with the system of record, requiring duplicate data entry and increasing the risk of errors.

These inefficiencies created a significant administrative burden for HR and payroll teams while limiting the organization’s ability to scale operations effectively. Additionally, the client sought improved leave management capabilities and greater self-service functionality for both employees and managers.

The Project

Following an RFP process, the client selected SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and Payroll, combined with WorkForce Software Time & Attendance and Absence Compliance Tracker (ACT), to create a fully integrated HCM ecosystem.

HRchitect was selected as the implementation partner to deploy the WorkForce Software components and build integrations with SuccessFactors. The joint project team included HRchitect consultants and client-side stakeholders across HR, payroll, case management, and IT.

The engagement followed a structured methodology, including requirements gathering, system configuration, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and go-live. One of the most complex aspects of the project was aligning resources around a December 24 go-live date, selected to ensure a clean tax year transition.

To support successful adoption, HRchitect conducted on-site training sessions tailored to different user groups and provided hands-on support during the go-live period.
