Newfoundland Power

Client Background

This HRchitect client is a Canadian energy provider serving customers across Newfoundland and Labrador. With a workforce that includes unionized employees and a range of operational roles, the organization required reliable and efficient HR systems to support payroll, workforce management, and broader HR functions. As the organization evolved, its existing systems and processes no longer aligned with business needs, prompting the need for a modern, integrated HCM solution.

The Challenge

The client was operating with legacy HR systems that limited efficiency, reporting capabilities, and overall system usability. Disparate processes and lack of integration created administrative burdens for HR and payroll teams, while also limiting visibility into workforce data. Additionally, the organization needed to ensure that any future solution could support union requirements, compliance standards, and long-term scalability. To move forward, the client required a clear HCM technology strategy and a structured approach to evaluate and select the right solution.

The Project

HRchitect analyzed the client’s current state, identified gaps in system functionality and processes, and worked with the project team to define a clear set of requirements and decision drivers. Special consideration was given to union requirements, payroll complexities, and compliance needs to ensure the future-state solution would fully support the organization.

Based on these findings, HRchitect developed and presented a tailored HCM technology strategy, along with a detailed overview of the vendor landscape.
