Ricky Prieto joined HRchitect in September 2022 as an HCM Consultant, bringing over 15 years of experience in Customer Service, Account Implementation Management, and Client Services from various industries to the HRchitect team. Within a year and a half, he earned his UKG Certification in Integration Development and Data Conversion, earning him a promotion to Integration Consultant in February 2024. With great success in his role, Ricky was again promoted to lead a team as the UKG Pro Implementation Manager within our UKG practice.

Ricky Pietro

Hometown: I spent my childhood in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and moved to Miami, Florida, when I turned 15.

All-time favorite restaurant: Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Last favorite movie/TV series: I am a comic lover, so anything Marvel. The last Marvel movie I watched was Deadpool and Wolverine.

What do you do when you’re not working? When not working, I spend time with my wife and toddler, exercising and traveling as much as possible.

How did you learn about HRchitect, and what made you join the company? I previously worked for UKG on the Partner Support team. While there, I got to know several of my now HRchitect coworkers and eventually decided to switch to the partner world as a consultant.

How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? With my UKG background, I feel like I already had one foot in the door, as I already had the UKG-related experience for the role.

In your own words, what do you do at HRchitect? I oversee a team of consultants and provide support as needed. Additionally, I also build custom integrations and assist in data conversions.

What’s a typical workday like for you? I wake up at the crack of dawn to get my toddler ready to drop off at daycare. When I return home, I get breakfast and coffee before starting my day. Some days, I am in meetings all day. When I am not, you can find me either working on a client’s implementation, building an integration, or assisting our teams where possible.

Tell me about a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of. I’m proud of all my projects, but if I had to highlight one, it would be a healthcare industry client. This project stands out because it was my first assignment after joining HRchitect as a consultant. I managed the implementation from start to finish, culminating in a successful Go-Live.

What’s been one of your favorite destinations to travel to for a client site visit/Partner conference/HRchitect event? I have not had the opportunity to go on-site for a client yet. However, I did attend HRchitect’s 25th anniversary meeting in Las Vegas in 2022.

What is your favorite destination/vacation spot you have traveled to? My best vacation spot is Costa Rica, hands down. It is a beautiful and peaceful destination with plenty of activities.

As part of a team that works 100% virtually, what technology or collaboration tools do you use to make your work life easier? Our team uses Zoom or Teams for meetings, which helps facilitate our meetings internally and with our clients. I have an account with Monday.com, where I manage my daily tasks; it helps keep me in check with what I need to do. I use OneNote for all my notes from client meetings, Notepad++ for all my coding/scripts, and Slack for internal communication. I use both Chrome and Edge, depending on my task.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? My family is undoubtedly my top motivator. Additionally, I recognize that my role is vital to the success of our team, clients, partners, and HRchitect.

Which employee perk that HRchitect offers do you enjoy the most? Why? I thoroughly enjoy the generous PTO – because I love to travel.
