Is your organization prepared for how a natural disaster might impact your HCM systems?

Now more than ever before, natural disasters are impacting communities all around the globe. In a recent press release, the United Nations announced that the number of natural disasters had increased five-fold over the past 50 years. That’s a scary statistic on many levels. So today, we’re honing in on how these natural disasters impact HR and HCM technology.  These disasters create many issues for employers, employees, and their families alike, whether or not the event happened directly in their community or somewhere else entirely.

The below tweet from World Meteorological Organization (WMO) showcases the top 10 disasters ranked according to economic losses. Most of these are hurricanes. However, hurricanes are not the only natural disaster that requires HR leaders to think on their feet and create new approaches to keep their employees safe and their businesses operating. Although it’s daunting to think about how earthquakes, floods, fires, tornadoes, and other natural disasters can threaten us, we must think about these disasters and how we’ll respond.

Although many employees can work remotely, when disaster strikes, they now have to focus not only on their jobs, taking care of your company’s employees but also taking care of their own families. It’s no surprise that this puts HR in a tremendously stressful position. This might be an instance where you’d benefit from having an organization like HRchitect step in. We often step in as supplemental HR technology support when an organization has an HR person who cannot continue their daily HR technology-related tasks. We have helped many companies with remote system administration support and payroll support, and many other services.

For this reason and many others, HRchitect has created support plans that allow our clients to utilize our consultants to help fill in the gaps of their day-to-day operations as it relates to the client’s HCM technology. Our consultants have vast experience, which allows us to offer support plans for many platforms in today’s HR technology marketplace. Combined with the flexibility in terms of whether you need a few hours of support coverage here and there as disaster strikes, or regularly need coverage for weeks or months at a time, we have options that will fit your needs.  The end goal is that you can focus on your employees and their families with peace of mind that business operations will continue without delay and for once, as an HR leader, truly focus on your disaster risk reduction and mitigation strategies.

Whether you’re a small company or a large global firm, let HRchitect be your backup during natural disasters. Even better, we can act as a natural extension of your regular HR team, helping out to lighten your team’s HCM technology workload when there isn’t quite enough demand to hire another full-time team member. Our experienced consultants will handle your HR technology projects so you can focus on developing and implementing proactive policies to minimize the negative impact of these natural disasters.

In addition, if you feel you don’t have the right HR systems in place that can help your company quickly respond when natural disasters happen, let us help you find the right solution to fit your needs. Ready to learn more? Schedule your consultation today.
