Your organization has made the wise decision to include Change Management as part of its HCM Implementation initiative. Understanding your role and responsibilities in contributing to this change effort is crucial. How will you know how to work as part of this team? At the start of the change management track, it is essential to define the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in the change process. These definitions will allow proper governance of change plans and activities. We accomplish this task using a RACI Chart to determine responsibilities for each deliverable. Understanding the roles and responsibilities will ensure the right resources to create a productive change team.
The Change Management Team
The change management team should consist of the following:

RACI Definition
Once you understand your role on the team, the RACI matrix will define the responsibilities for each task in change management by their role.
The RACI matrix ensures that change management tasks continue moving forward by assigning responsibilities to each milestone and deliverable. RACI stands for Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed, and represents the level of ownership for each member of the Change Management Team.
RACI Acronyms
Responsible: This team member does the work to complete the task. Every task needs at least one responsible party, but assigning more is okay.
Accountable: This person delegates work and is the last to review the task or deliverable before completion. The person also ensures the task is completed on time. For some tasks, the responsible party may also be accountable. You should only have one accountable person assigned to each task or deliverable.
Consulted: Consulted parties are typically those affected by the outcomes and provide input based on how it will impact their future project work or their domain of expertise on the deliverable. Reviews strengthen every work product.
Informed: Informed team members kept in the loop on project progress rather than involved with every detail of each deliverable. They are informed about what is happening and often lead the affected or adjacent teams and departments.
