James Lieck joined HRchitect in 2022 as a Senior Implementation Consultant bringing 8+ years of experience in payroll, workforce management, and HCM consulting experience to the HRchitect team. Recognized for his knowledge and expertise, he was quickly promoted to UKG Pro WFM Implementation Manager currently overseeing a team of 13 consultants. James excels in strategic consulting for UKG Pro WFM and HCM project implementations, for enterprise, large, and mid-size customers. His system experience also includes UKG Ready and iSolved with a focus on Payroll, HR, Performance Management, Attendance, and Leave modules. He prides himself on providing functional expertise in the implementation of WFM software systems, overseeing his team, and providing top-notch service to each of his clients during every project.

Last book you read or favorite movie/TV series: I just finished Positive Discipline, by Dr. Jane Nelson, as I am preparing to be a first-time parent this summer.
What do you do when you’re not working? Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu
How did you find out about HRchitect, and what made you join the company? I was on a project at my last firm with an employee of HRchitect. She was running the UKG Pro WFM consulting practice at the time, and we got along very well. Eventually, she reached out to have me join the organization, and the rest was history!
How has your background impacted your experience as a consultant? I have had nearly ten years of experience in the consulting world at this point. Before that, I was working in the service industry mostly. I believe those formative years helped shape me as someone who is patient, and helpful and does what is needed to provide the best service to our clients.
In your own words, what do you do at HRchitect? As an Implementation Manager, I work closely with our Solution Consultants to ensure that they are happy, engaged, and enjoying their work. My number one goal is to ensure that my team is supported to the fullest extent, and that we are working together for the betterment of our clients and team.
What’s a typical workday like for you? Every day is different! Sometimes I work with clients on builds, testing, or requirements gathering. Other days are filled with assisting my team or jumping into ‘hot’ projects to assist. It is a fun and fast-paced role that I truly enjoy.
Tell me about a project you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of. For years I spent time working on a very large Kronos Workforce Central to UKG Pro WFM conversion for The Home Depot. I was the Attendance Solution Consultant for this project for nearly three years, and it was challenging and engaging. I learned a lot working on this project.
What’s been one of your favorite destinations to travel to for a client site visit/Partner conference/HRchitect event? I had a great time at the UKG user conference, Aspire, in Las Vegas. I think Las Vegas is always a fun place for a convention! It is great to see so many clients, former colleagues, and UKG employees that I have worked with in the past.
As part of a team that works 100% virtually, what technology or collaboration tools do you use to make your work life easier? Supernormal AI has been an absolute blessing so far. It allows us to focus on delivering great quality service to our clients, instead of taking lots of time typing up notes ourselves. It truly has changed the way I take notes and deliver those notes to our clients. It is super helpful!
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day? Getting to work with our fantastic team every day! I love the challenges that are presented to me every day, whether it’s an interesting configuration issue that needs to be solved or anything else that the day could throw at me.

Which employee perk that HRchitect offers do you enjoy the most? Why? I love working from home and having so many holidays and unlimited PTO! It’s nice to feel like we can always take the time we need to spend with our families. HRchitect truly cares about work-life balance, and it shows!
