What are you currently reading? Travis by Mia Sheridan, Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and Flawless by Elsie Silver. (yes, reading all three at once!)

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time? I most enjoy spending time outdoors with my dogs, whether we’re hiking or just enjoying the fresh air. I also love spending time with family and friends, especially when we’re exploring new restaurants, visiting wineries and breweries, going to Atlanta Braves baseball games, or doing some shopping.

What is your title, and what do you do for HRchitect? As an Accounting Specialist at HRchitect, I get to support a little bit of everything of the company’s financial operations, and no two days are quite the same. I process and review expense reports to ensure they follow company policy and receive the necessary approvals. I also handle accounts payable, track key milestone billing dates, and generate reports on marketing and sales expenditures. A big part of my role involves staying on top of client invoice inquiries, applying payments once received, and following up on outstanding invoices. I’m also the go-to for completing vendor forms, verifying ACH and banking information, and handling general client financial requests.

How did you find out about HRchitect, and what made you interested in applying to join the company? HCM technology was completely new to me when I joined HRchitect. My background was mostly in the retail and construction industries. I did a lot of permit running and hands-on work in the fields so this industry was a big change. Funny enough, my mom works at UKG and knew a few people here, like Matt, Erica, Erin, and Samantha. She let me know about an opening, and I immediately jumped on LinkedIn, found the post, and applied. I didn’t actually get the role I originally applied for—but I was incredibly fortunate because they ended up creating this position for me. It all came together really naturally, and I’m so grateful it did.

What do you like about working at HRchitect? One of the things I love most about working at HRchitect is the work-life balance, it’s honestly the best I’ve ever had. This is my first fully remote job, and I don’t think I could ever go back! I really appreciate all the little things the company does to take care of us, like Summer Fridays and the health and wellness initiatives. You can just tell HRchitect truly cares about its employees, and that means a lot.

What project or initiative have you worked on that you are most proud of? I wouldn’t say it’s one particular project, but managing our accounts payable feels like a huge accomplishment in itself. Just handling the volume of payments, we receive and keeping everything organized on a daily basis is a big responsibility. Reconciling our accounts is no small task either. I take pride in those “little finance tasks,” making sure payments are applied correctly, accounts are reconciled, and everything stays organized and accurate.

What’s been one of your favorite destinations to travel to for HRchitect?  It would have to be the President’s Club 2025 trip to Cancun, Mexico. That was my first time traveling out of the country, so it was super fun to experience a new place with many of my colleagues and I was proud to have qualified for that trip. Honestly, it was one of the most fun trips I’ve been on in a long time!

Outside of work travel, what has been your favorite place to spend time? My favorite spot is probably Hilton Head, South Carolina. My family and I try to go there every year, although we can’t always make it. However, we’re planning a trip this August, and I’m really excited. It’s such a relaxing and cute place. I love getting a shirt from the Salty Dog store and enjoying the beautiful beach.
